The Machine Has a Soul
I currently have several essays in the works which require tracking down some sources. The one I am most looking forward to I have given the title “National Sensationalism” and it deals with Pelley putting to use what he learned as a Hollywood publicity agent when it came to promoting the Silver Legion. It relies heavily on some rare silent-era film trade publications. You might be surprised.
For now I will give you a heads up on a book I just learned about. The second link is for a partial review which makes the book seem at least of passing interest. I think the author’s approach of focusing on a few personalities I am not familiar with has raised my curiosity. The Machine Has a Soul; American Sympathy with Italian Fascism <Amazon listing.
